Your Guide to a Slow Day of Outdoor Crafting

Some days are made for slowing down. For bare feet on grass, ice-cold coconut water, and hands busy with colour, texture, or whatever’s calling you that day.
If you’re craving a creative day outdoors, here’s our guide to help you set it up.

1. Start with a soft foundation
You’ll need something to sit on, spread out on, and drop things on. Sarongs are our go-to: lightweight, easy to carry, and just the right mix of beautiful and practical. Bring a few so everyone has space.

2. Keep the supplies simple
This isn’t about packing your whole studio—just enough to spark something. A sketchbook and a pen. A lump of clay. Thread, beads, dried flowers, maybe a glue stick. Things that invite you to make, not overthink.

3. Invite friends, not pressure
Crafting in the sun works best when it’s relaxed. Everyone brings a little something, there are no rules or outcomes, just shared time. Some will make, some will snack, some will lie back and chat.

4. Embrace the mess
Paint smudges, thread tangles, bits of nature stuck to your skin. Let it be tactile and a free-flowing.

5. Stay awhile
Wear your SPF, stay hydrated, and bring snacks. Let the afternoon stretch on. The beauty of a day like this is that it doesn’t need to be productive to feel meaningful.
